The right choice of your kiteboard determines the fun factor on the water. There are two types, Twintips and Directionals. A Twintip can be ridden with both sides in front, because it is built with the same sides. A directional board can only be ridden to one side. It is asymmetrically constructed. There are different boards for different styles: wakestyle, freeride, freestyle, race, wave and light wind. Also the size influences your riding behaviour. The lighter your board is, the less ballast you have on your feet when jumping, turning and steering.
