The brand Slingshot is undoubtedly the American kite innovation leader, which not only produces kites but also kiteboards and wakeboards in its own kiteboard factory. The production of the kiteboards takes place in the so-called distillery, this is how Slingshot named the kiteboard factory. The headquarters of the Kiteboarding Company is in Hood River, Oregon directly at the Columbia River where you can test almost every day. Slingshot kites were for a long time mainly in the core area of kitesurfing.
Only with the development of the Slingshot Kite Rally was the hurdle to the breadth of the kitesurfing sport overcome. The Slingshot Kite RPM then brought the brand the big success on the market. Youri Zoon won the World Champion title in 2011 + 2012 with the Slingshot RPM and Mario Carlos won the World Champion title again in 2016 with this kite.
In 2016 the SST Wave Kite was added, another model especially for wave kiteboarding. At the same time Slingshot developed one of the biggest Hydro-Foil Kiteboarding collections and probably became market leader in Germany right away in 2016. This new development of kiteboarding also influences the sizes of the kites, so the Slingshot kite turbine will be available in small sizes and high up to 19sqm kites from 2017 on. Also the SST Wave Kite has been extended in its depth. With the Chopstick Sentinel Bar, the proven kite bar was supplemented in 2016 with an overhead adjuster solution. The bar is compatible for all kites like Slingshot Kite Rally, Slingshot Kite RPM, Slingshot Kite Turbine and Slingshot Kite SST Wave and leaves nothing to be desired. The bar is optimized with 3 variations in width and line length to generate a maximum of performance from each kite.
For 2018 Slingshot is planning a special kite for Hydro-Foil Kiteboarding. Who would have thought that there will ever be a Slingshot soft kite! – We have all Slingshot kites, kiteboards, wakeboards, bars and Hydro-Foil kiteboards in our kite store. With the 2019 season we present the most extensive Slingshot Foils ever. Slingshot Wakeboards and Slingshot Kiteboards will no longer be produced in the USA, but will come from the top board production facility in the United Emirates.
