Review & Test of the Ozone Enduro V3 2021

Ozones Enduro is at home on a wide variety of terrain thanks to effective adjustment options on the Bridle. The quick-change artist should appeal to freeriders, wave kiters and freestylers alike.

Although Ozone’s kite range is anything but small with eight models, the Enduro is intended to take on the role of an ultra versatile all-rounder. Freestyle, Freeride, Wave – all with just one canopy design, but supported by different bridle modes. This places the Enduro somewhere in the middle between Edge, Reo, Amp and Catalyst. To achieve this, Ozone has chosen an unusual adjustment system. While many manufacturers solve the setting of different flight modes by using different knots at the mostly outer bridle attachment point, the setting on the Enduro is done by two knot ladders at the end of the bridle in the center of the Leading Edge. The knot positions change the geometry of the bridle and thus the C-shape of the canopy. This affects the bar forces, spin, basic pull and reactivity for the Freeride, Wave and Freestyle options.

The Performance of the Enduro

The Ozone Enduro takes versatility to a new level. The third version of the Enduro owes its all-round feel to variable bridle line geometry. You can choose from three different bridle line trim options and adjust it yourself: Freeride – wave/ foil and freestyle. This feature allows you to fine-tune your Ozone Enduro V3 and adjust the kite feedback and bar pressure as needed. This makes the Ozone Enduro a great freeride kite regardless of your riding style or conditions.

The Ozone Enduro has a high-end construction, and you will see that as soon as you pull it out of the bag. The quality has been further improved and is currently one of the best on the market. The kite is equipped with Teijin’s Technoforce Triple Ripstop. This makes the kite very robust and durable. The seams are double stitched for extra reinforcement. The kite’s struts are directly connected to the cloth for a very responsive steering response. The tear-off edge is reinforced for extra durability.

The Ozone Enduro V3 2021 kite steers very directly and feels very stable even in strong winds thanks to the 4-line system without pulleys. It has a wonderful lift and does exactly what you want it to do. Kiteloops go almost by themselves with the Enduro, thanks to the fast steering response. The Enduro loops cleanly and quickly. All in all a wonderful kite for the advanced to experienced freerider who likes to ride a kite that can do everything.

Summary

Thanks to its adjustment options, the Enduro is a true kite chameleon and more versatile than almost any other candidate in this group. In an all-round comparison, it delivers top-level wave performance, powerful freeride handling and, as a cherry on the cake, sporty jumping characteristics with freestyle potential.
